Novel Spread

I photoshopped the image of chains into the image of the eye in the window using the magic wand tool, and then used layers to place it where it resides at the moment, the window. I then photoshopped the image of the birds into the room also by using the magic wand tool, the same for the image of myself, and the barcode. For the image of the girl on the back page, I first found an image of an eye with crackled skin around it, and used the lasso tool to select the areas of the girl where I wanted it. I downsized the eye with crackled skin and brought the shape of the selected areas and copied everything in it. Then I brought it back to the girl and pasted it, and changed the opacity levels. For the Hello Kitty she's holding, I used the magic wand tool to add the spatters of blood, and once again changed the opacity, then I deleted the blood where it went on the girl. Then font was added, I didn't do anything special to it, but I changed the angle of the image to put my name as it is. I just added random words to make myself sound like a big shot, the description, and reviews are my words. The author's portait can be explain in the post underneath this one.

Portrait, October 21 2010

First, I desaturated the images (and for Alyssa, I changed the colour balance a bit), then I created a new layer, and applied a surface blur. On the new layer, I changed the opacity, and the flow to something less than 100%, and I erased parts on the hair, eyes, and mouth to make it look sharper. I then used the lasso tool, and selected the eyes one at a time, and sharpened them with the unsharp mask.

September Light Duotone

I made this image into my September Light project, and then I switched it into a duotone as well.

September Light

I didn't use the rule opf thirds when I took the picture, but I used layers to enhance the dramatization. I didn't use the leading lines either. But the shadows are darker, and more blue than they originally were, and the sunlight, and beams are warmer than normal.

September Light

I used layers and contrasted the original image, and darkened the shadows, and lightened the light parts. My legs are sharpened, along with the tree. Everything around my legs has a slight motion blur. I also warmed the picture by using the Colour Balance.

Posterize Spread October 4 2010

I played with the curves, and posterized each image. I used layers for each individual picture, the text, and the background colours.

September Light?

I used the layers, and slightly erased some of what I did. I used the dodge and burn tools to highlight the light spots, and to darken the shadows. I sharpeded my leg/foot, the leaves beneath it, and the tree above it. The cars are blurred; motion blur.

Layers

I created a duplicate layer, and saturated it, and played with the colour selection. Then I erased everything around the shoes, and flattened the layers. I blurred everything behind the cement block the shoes are on.

Heather's Beach

I blurred the water, and sharpened the rocks.

Peachland

I used the dodge and blur tool, to highlight the clouds, water, and beams of sunlight. Little contrast was used.

Black and White

I played with the saturation for both, and the contrast and brightness. I sharpened (unsharp mask) the foot in the picture below also.

Converse

I used a Gaussian blur for everywhere around the shoe, and I used the 'unsharp mask' for the shoe itself.  Brightness, and contrast were used too.

Leading Lines, September 23, 2010

Leading lines; I used layers to point out the lines in a picture, by using the rectangular marquee tool (filling it, and using free transform", and the elliptical marquee tool.

Fire

Dyed hair, just contrasted, and I used the history brush.

Zombie

Lips were coloured, brush lines were drawn on with 3% flow, and the hair was whitened. In the end, everything was slightly darkened, and contrasted.

Duotones - Portrait, September 21

Blurred background, sharpened foreground.

Layers - Correction, September 21

This is a picture where I had to make the rainbow appear more dramatic, and sharpen the windmills in the background. I had to flatten the layers, and fix the levels.

Safe

Lets face it, this was never what you wanted.
I’ll always be the broken picture in your frame.
Never to be fixed, just forgotten.
I’d dedicate my days to you,
But now we cant even make one good memory.
Wrongly accused, it’s just something I’ve gotten used to.
I would do anything for you.

This place doesn’t feel like home,
Yet it’s all I’ve ever known.
You’re the inspiration for my tears to flow.
Creativity is pouring out of them, cant you see their rainbow?
But you’ll never know any of this,
Because you’re always the first to go.
Off the phone, and off the show.
I would do anything for you.

I swear you can see me fall,
Ignoring it because I’m just not worth it.
You will never see me cry,
You’re going around, always fucking high.
Come down for a visit sometime,
Maybe you would see how I feel inside.

I just hope I find you again,
I’ve lost everything I’ve ever known,
But I don’t know if I can handle you being gone.
I hope you know,
I would do anything for you.

I WROTE THIS, IT IS MINE.
